The Plaid Cymru government took office in May 2026 — the first non-Labour government in the Senedd's history — with a Culture Act pledged and the AI Cymru plan committing Wales to bilingual AI. Its first own budget is drafted in autumn 2026 for 2027–28. Organisations positioned before the money lands set the terms.
